The Minnesota Vikings take on the Detroit Lions in an NFC North matchup on Sunday of Week 16. Before the game, we take a look at whether you should start or sit Vikings running back Ty Chandler in fantasy football this week.
Fantasy Football analysis: Vikings RB Ty Chandler
Chandler has slowly taken over the RB1 role after Alexander Mattison missed several games with injury issues. Chandler has averaged 4.7 yards per carry to Mattison’s 3.9 YPC. Last week, Chandler had a season-high 132 rushing yards against the Bengals and scored his second touchdown of the season. Mattison is questionable for the game, but is expected to play. However, Chandler is expected to get the starting nod, per Tom Pelissero.
Start or sit in Week 16 PPR leagues?
Chandler has more than proven himself as the team’s top back this season, and we should expect to see him get plenty of action in this matchup. The Lions allow the sixth-fewest points in PPR leagues to opposing running backs, so we might not see another 100-yard game from Chandler, but nevertheless, he will see plenty of opportunities to build up fantasy earnings this week.
Start or sit in Week 16 standard leagues?
Chandler averages 4.7 yards per carry, which is one of the higher stat lines in the league for backs on pace to reach 100 carries this season. He has seen his production pick up quite a bit in both the rushing and passing game in recent weeks, and is a solid starter for the week ahead.
