The Las Vegas Raiders take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day in Week 16. Before kickoff, we take a look at whether you should start Josh Jacobs or any of the rest of the Raiders backfield in fantasy football this week.

Fantasy Football analysis: Raiders RB Josh Jacobs

Jacobs enters the game with a questionable (quad/illness) designation. He did not practice on Thursday or Saturday and was a limited participant on Friday. Last week, Jacobs missed the Raiders’ 63-21 win over the Chargers. In that game, running backs Zamir White and Brandon Bolden each scored a touchdown.

Jacobs’ chances to excel this week don’t look promising after he missed last week’s game and several practices this week. The Chiefs allow the 15-fewest PPR fantasy points to opposing running backs, placing them fairly in the center of the league, but Jacobs has been underwhelming this season. He averages just 3.5 yards per carry. He excelled in his latest game against the Chiefs, rushing for over 100 yards and a touchdown, but since he’s not at full health, I would keep him on the bench this week.

If you’re looking to start someone from the Raiders roster, Zamir White saw the most action last week, adding up a season-high 69 rushing yards and 16 receiving yards. However, White may not see the same amount of carry and target share as he did last week if Jacobs returns.

Again, Jacobs may not be at full strength heading into this week. While the Chiefs’ rushing defense is nothing to write home about, Jacobs will be an area of focus for them after his last matchup against Kansas City.
