After No. 8 Alabama’s win over No. 1 Georgia in the SEC Championship on Saturday, the chaos scenarios that the College Football Playoff committee has been dreading are playing out in real time. Will FSU win over Louisville? Can one-loss Alabama or one-loss Texas sneak in over the Seminoles?
Washington is the only undefeated conference champion as we head into the night games. Florida State and Michigan will both have the chance to earn the same title if they are able to defeat Louisville and Iowa, respectively, and remain unbeaten.
Check out what the sport’s top writers think should happen during Sunday’s selection show:

FSU has a win over LSU, a second top-25 win over Clemson and also a win over Florida with its backup QB.— Nicole Auerbach (@NicoleAuerbach) December 3, 2023
Tonight is an opportunity for a top-15 win. This resume isn’t nothing. https://t.co/HbB4byY1gS

As I've said all week, if it comes down to Bama and Texas for the fourth spot, they have to give it to Texas.— Stewart Mandel (@slmandel) December 3, 2023
But, I think Bama jump past 13-0 FSU to No. 3, Texas will be 5 or 6, and they'll say it wasn't close enough for the H2H tiebreaker to come into play.
Alex Kirshner, Split Zone Duo
I don't think Bama's gonna make it if FSU wins. Obviously this can become part of an Old Takes spree, but they did this in a year with three undefeated P5s and a team with a similar resume that won on their field. It would be a tough beat but not as tough as cutting FSU or Texas— Alex Kirshner (@alex_kirshner) December 3, 2023

It’s 7:24 pm on the night before Selection Sunday, and at this moment exactly one team is in the field: Washington.— Pat Forde (@ByPatForde) December 3, 2023

The most likely scenario we're facing is Alabama or Florida State for the final spot and well... https://t.co/5461PuJXn3— Chris Vannini (@ChrisVannini) December 3, 2023
Bill Connelly, ESPN
I still feel like Georgia-Texas-Bama is *slightly* more likely than Texas-Bama-Georgia (and whether 1 or 2 get in depends on FSU), but I mean, of course it's FAIR ... if you lose to a contender on the final Saturday, you're leaving a lot up to chance.https://t.co/qbRIPLxCCJ— Bill Connelly (@ESPN_BillC) December 3, 2023
