Update 6:00 p.m. ESPN’s Pete Thamel says Harris is out. The spread is down to UTSA -7.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total at 47.
Sources: UTSA star quarterback Frank Harris is considered unlikely to play against Marshall in the Frisco Bowl tonight. A final decision isn't expected until after warm-ups, but he's dealt with a multitude of injuries this year.— Pete Thamel (@PeteThamel) December 19, 2023
The UTSA Roadrunners take on the Marshall Thundering Herd in the Frisco Bowl on Tuesday, December 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. ET. UTSA quarterback Frank Harris’ status for Tuesday’s game is up in the air, and it is currently unclear whether or not he plans on participating. The Roadrunners are currently installed as 8-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, but that’s down from as much as 12.5-point favorites yesterday.
The 24-year-old, seventh-year senior finished the regular season with over 2,500 passing yards, 18 passing touchdowns, eight interceptions, and four rushing touchdowns. His NFL prospects are not particularly bright, despite leading the Roadrunners to a solid 8-4 season this year.
Harris was listed as No. 1 on the UTSA depth chart, with no opt-out expected. But the massive late line movement has bettors aflutter that he might be sitting out the game as well.
Will Frank Harris play or not play tonight is the 2023 version of will Ronnie and Sammie get back together or not— Dustin Swedelson (@dustinswedelson) December 19, 2023
