The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took care of business in Week 14 with a win over the division rival Atlanta Falcons to get back to 6-7. That evened the NFC South division in a three-way tie between the Bucs, Falcons and New Orleans Saints going into the final four games of the 2023 NFL regular season. The Bucs have a key matchup vs. the Green Bay Packers in Week 15. The Packers are also 6-7 and in the hunt for a Wild Card spot. While the Bucs are aiming for a division title, beating Green Bay also increases the teams odds of landing a spot in the postseason. We’re going to go over which teams Bucs fans should be rooting for in Week 15.
Result: The Bucs beat the Packers 34-20 to improve to 7-7 and stay in first place in the NFC South.
Panthers vs. Falcons
Result: The Panthers pulled off the upset 9-7 over the Falcons on a last-second field goal. Atlanta drops to 6-8 on the season and are trailing both the Bucs and Saints.
It’s a stretch, but Carolina could pull off the upset over Atlanta this week, right? If so, that would help the Bucs out big time. The Bucs remain in first place ahead of the Falcons and then the Saints. So a loss for the Falcons is a bit more important. Atlanta beat Carolina 24-10 in the season opener. The Falcons are 3-point favorites on the road vs. the Panthers on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Giants vs. Saints
Result: The Saints beat the Giants 24-6 in Week 15 to improve to 7-7. New York drops to 5-9 on the season.
The Saints take on the Giants and Tommy DeVito in Week 15. New York is coming off a last-second FG win over the Packers in Week 14 on MNF. The Giants aren’t technically eliminated from the playoffs but have pretty slim odds to make it in. New York beating New Orleans is important but the Giants winning also may not help Tampa Bay all that much either. Either way, the Saints losing is key here. New Orleans enters at 5.5-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Commanders vs. Rams
Result: The Rams beat the Commanders 28-20 to go 7-7. Not what Bucs’ fans wanted, but as long as they can come out on top of the NFC South, it won’t matter.
The Seahawks-Eagles MNF game is also sort of important for the Bucs. The Rams and Seahawks are tied at 6-7 with the Bucs in the NFC Wild Card standings. So if the Bucs were to drop out of the division lead, they’d be competing for a WC spot with the Vikings, Packers, Rams, Seahawks, Saints and Falcons. The Rams losing to the Commanders could knock one team down a peg, which is helpful. Plus, the Eagles should take care of the Seahawks in primetime, so rooting for Los Angeles makes a bit more sense. The Rams are 6.5-point favorites at home on DraftKings Sportsbook.
