Two flyweight titles will be on the line as WBO champion Jesse Rodriguez and IBF titleholder Sunny Edwards clash on Saturday, December 16. This flyweight unification bout brings us a clash of two outstanding fighters in the division. The bout will take place at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona.

The fight will be available on DAZN with coverage starting at 8 p.m. ET. To livestream the fight, you’ll need a subscription to DAZN. Ring walks are expected for 10:55 p.m. depending on the length of the undercard.

Fighter history

Rodriguez (18-0, 11 KOs) dominated the super flyweight ranks in 2022, claiming the WBC belt with a win against Carlos Cuadras. Following two consecutive title defenses at 108 pounds, Rodriguez returned to 112 and defeated Cristian Gonzalez. Despite suffering a broken jaw in the fight, he secured the WBO flyweight championship. Now, at 23, he eyes unified title status.

Edwards (20-0, 4 KOs) has successfully defended his IBF belt four times, including an unanimous decision victory over Andres Campos in June. Known for a more methodical approach, Edwards likes to overwhelm opponents down the stretch of fights. The 27-year-old out of London makes his first fight appearance in the United States.

Rodriguez is a slim betting favorite with -215 odds to win while Edwards is a +170 underdog. The favored method of victory is Rodriguez by decision (-115), according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
