The Minnesota Timberwolves saw a six-game winning streak end against the Pelicans in their last game but they remain at the top of the Western Conference heading into Thursday’s showdown against the Dallas Mavericks. One player who is hoping to return in this contest is star forward Anthony Edwards. He’s dealing with a hip injury, and here’s the latest on his status for Thursday’s game.
Anthony Edwards injury updates
Update: Edwards will play Thursday, making his return to the court after leaving early against the Grizzlies.
Edwards is listed as questionable, and he did go through a full practice Wednesday as he works through this hip injury. He initially suffered the injury against the Thunder in late November and missed a few games before coming back against the Grizzlies. Sadly, he only managed to play about four minutes in that contest before aggravating the injury and leaving the game.
Even if Edwards does suit up, there’s a chance he deals with soreness and is ineffective or suffers another setback. Kyle Anderson and Nickeil Alexander-Walker are worth looking into as value plays in DFS lineups. Both are solid with Edwards in the lineup, but there’s a chance they could see more usage if the star has to exit early again.
