The Boston Celtics will host the Cleveland Cavaliers once again on Thursday after the two teams faced off Tuesday in a game the Celtics won 120-113. Boston got a big contribution from small forward Jaylen Brown with 25 points, but Brown did sustain an ankle injury in the contest. He did end up returning and playing through the issue, but he’s back on the injury report ahead of Thursday’s game. Here’s the latest on his status.
Jaylen Brown injury updates
Update: As expected, Brown is available to play Thursday.
Update: Brown participated in Boston’s shootaround this morning, which is yet another sign he’s trending towards playing in Thursday’s contest.
Brown is officially being listed as questionable, though this does feel like a bit of unnecessary gamesmanship from Boston. The Celtics are playing the same team they played two days ago, and Brown came back for that contest. It’s highly unlikely he’s aggravated the injury beyond the point of playing in two days, especially since he did continue on it Tuesday in a live game.
In the event Brown does sit this one out, Jayson Tatum becomes the primary offensive force for the Celtics with Jrue Holiday likely to get additional usage. Holiday would see an increase in overall value as Tatum is already a star in fantasy/DFS formats.
