The Los Angeles Chargers take on the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football in week 15. Quarterback Justin Herbert is out for the season with a fractured finger, and backup Easton Stick will take over under center. Herbert’s absence will affect his receivers’ fantasy earnings as many fantasy leagues head into playoffs. We take a look at whether to start or sit Chargers running back Austin Ekeler in Week 15.

Fantasy Football analysis: Chargers RB Austin Ekeler

Ekeler finished last week’s game against the Broncos with 51 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown, and five receptions for 49 yards. This was one of Ekeler’s highest-earning fantasy weeks in a while.

Start or sit in Week 15 PPR leagues?

Start.

Unless the Chargers start full-on tanking, Ekeler will see plenty of playing time and rushing opportunities this week as the team scales back on quarterback-driven plays. While he may see his PPR points diminish a bit if the passing game is scaled back, Ekeler will still be the RB1. The Raiders have one of the worst rushing defenses in the league.

Start or sit in Week 15 standard leagues?

Start.

Ekeler’s yardage shouldn’t be too affected by the quarterback change this week, and as mentioned above, the Raiders’ rushing defense has not been a weak point for the team this season.
