Louisville says Koron Davis wants to transfer. Koron Davis says he doesn’t

The chaos of the Kenny Payne Era at Louisville continues. How much worse can it get?

Someone come get Louisville Cardinals basketball program. They need help.

Louisville is 4-5 this season, and sits 176th in KenPom overall. Payne is now 8-33 after 1.5 years at a blueblood program that has become a laughingstock. Our guy Mike Rutherford at the fantastic Card Chronicle summed up what it’s like to be a UL fan at present. The three-time national champions are simply an epic disaster wrapped in a tortilla of pain.

It just cannot continue. Athletic director Josh Heird has to do immediately what is bound to happen eventually. No program with the history and tradition of the Cards has fallen on times this hard that we can remember. The time for excuses is long past, and the NCAA sanctions can be blamed no longer.

The players that remain deserve to see that something will be done here. The fans as well. Payne isn’t the man to lead this program, and they need to start anew immediately.
