Nets vs. Suns pick against the spread, over/under for Wednesday, December 13

We go over some of the best betting options for Wednesday’s matchup between the Nets and Suns.

Update: Durant is in and Beal is also in, which means the Suns will have their three stars on the floor for the first time this season tonight. The line has now jumped to Suns -4.5 and I’ll stick with them as the ATS pick. The total is 231.5, and I’ll take the over with Durant and Beal in the mix.

The Brooklyn Nets (12-10) will look to recover from a tough loss when they take on the Phoenix Suns (13-10) Wednesday evening. The Nets were on a three-game winning streak prior to their 131-118 setback against the Kings, while the Suns snapped a two-game losing streak with a win over the Warriors Tuesday.

The Nets are relatively clean on the day-to-day injury front, with only Dennis Smith Jr. and Lonnie Walker out. Ben Simmons remains out with a nerve issue. The Suns are on the second night of a back-to-back set and won’t release an official injury report until later in the day, but Kevin Durant is expected to return to the floor. We’ll see if Bradley Beal plays after returning to the court Tuesday, while Grayson Allen is expected to remain out with a groin injury.

The Suns are 2-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 227. Phoenix is -135 on the moneyline while Brooklyn is +114.

Nets vs. Suns, 9 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Suns -2

Phoenix is 2-1 ATS this season with no rest, and 2-2 ATS as the team coming into a game with a rest disadvantage. The Nets have done really well in the underdog role at 8-4-1 ATS, but they are just 4-5 straight up away from home. Even with a 5-3 ATS mark as a road underdog, it’s hard to back Brooklyn especially with Durant set to return for the Suns. Take Phoenix to register back-to-back wins.

Over/Under: Over 227

The Nets are 12-10 on overs this season and have been solid offensively, ranking eighth in points per game and offensive rating. The Suns haven’t been able to have all their stars on the floor at the same time yet this season, but are still 12th in points per game and are 15-8 on overs. Even with Phoenix on a back-to-back set, take the over in tonight’s contest.
