Hawks vs. Raptors pick against the spread, over/under for Wednesday, December 13

We go over some of the best betting options for Wednesday’s matchup between the Hawks and Raptors.

Two playoff hopefuls in the Eastern Conference will look to snap out of a rut Wednesday when the Atlanta Hawks (9-13) face off against the Toronto Raptors (9-14). Both teams are experiencing four-game losing streaks, but one will see that skid end tonight. These squads met three times last season, with the Hawks grabbing two wins. This is the first meeting between Atlanta and Toronto this season.

Jalen Johnson remains out for the Hawks, while De’Andre Hunter is questionable and Trae Young is probable. The Raptors have listed Chris Boucher and Otto Porter Jr. as questionable.

The Raptors are 1.5-point favorites according to DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total sitting at 241. Toronto is -122 on the moneyline while Atlanta is +102.

Hawks vs. Raptors, 7:30 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Raptors -1.5

Toronto is 10-12-1 ATS this season while Atlanta is the worst ATS team in the league at 5-17. The Raptors are 6-6 ATS at home, which is also their straight up record. The Hawks are 6-6 as the road team, so there’s reason to believe they can steal one here. Atlanta has not covered in its last seven games, five of which have been on the road.

There’s going to be desperation on both sides. While there’s still a long way to go this season, there’s already a bit of a gap between the top nine teams in the East and the trio fo Atlanta, Toronto and Chicago. One of those teams will be left out of the play-in tournament, assuming this current form continues to hold overall. Games like these are huge, even if they don’t take place late in the season. I like the Raptors to get the job done at home and snap their losing streak.

Over/Under: Over 241

Atlanta is one of the over-friendly teams in the league, sporting a 14-8 mark to the over. Toronto is 12-11 on overs, going 6-6 on overs at home. The Raptors have experienced a bit of a scoring surge lately, while the Hawks remain one of the top offensive teams in the league. Over the last three contests, both sides are scoring 116.3 points per game.

Of the three games between these teams last season, two went over this line. It’s a big number, but there’s enough firepower on display to send the total over once again Wednesday.
