The Philadelphia 76ers are back in action Monday when they host the Washington Wizards. These two teams met a few days earlier, with Philadelphia winning 131-125 on a huge effort from reigning league MVP Joel Embiid. Embiid is dealing with a knee injury ahead of Monday’s contest. Here’s the latest on his status.

Joel Embiid injury updates

Update: Embiid will suit up for the Sixers in Monday’s game.

Update: Embiid is participating in the shootaround Monday morning, so that’s a good sign for his availability against Washington.

Embiid is officially being listed as questionable for this game, and we know the big man has a history of knee injuries. The 76ers are on a two-game winning streak where Embiid played 74 combined minutes. He went for 50 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists in the last game against the Wizards, so he’s a lock to lead fantasy and DFS lineups if healthy.

If Embiid is unable to go in this game, look for Paul Reed to get the start at center. Reed would be a solid value play in DFS lineups, although the 76ers will likely go through Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris offensively. Maxey is the fantasy/DFS star to look for in the event Embiid does sit.
