NFL playoff picture: Who to root for in Week 14 if you are a Packers fan

The Green Bay Packers were once 2-5 this season. Since then, the team has won four of five games to get to 6-6 and back into the playoff hunt in the NFC. Green Bay enters Week 14 with a matchup vs. the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. But there are plenty of meaningful games Packers fans should be concerned about heading into Sunday. Let’s take a look at the playoff picture and which teams Packers fans should be rooting for this week.

Ravens vs. Rams

This is a pretty good spot for Packers fans. The Rams are 6-6 and behind the Packers in the standings based on tiebreakers. The even better news is the Ravens are still fighting for the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Baltimore enters Week 14 tied with the Miami Dolphins at 9-3 but the Dolphins own the tiebreaker for the top seed. So the Ravens have all the motivation in the world to win in this one. Plus, Baltimore is coming off a bye week so the team should be rested.

Odds: Ravens -7.5, BAL ML -375

49ers vs. Seahawks

It could be a very happy Sunday for Packers fans looking at some of the teams they get to root for this week. The Niners are another team fighting for seeding in the NFC and have a shot at the No. 1 seed after beating the Eagles last week. The Seahawks are also 6-6 and right behind Green Bay in the standings, but the Packers also own the tiebreaker at the moment. Packers fans shouldn’t like either of these teams, but have a rooting interest in a big 49ers win this week.

Odds: 49ers -11, SF ML -625

Raiders vs. Vikings

Minnesota is tied with Green Bay at 6-6 in the standings but own the tiebreaker and are the 6-seed in the NFC heading into Week 14. This is a pretty easy team to root against if you’re a Packers fan. The Raiders haven’t been great this season but are coming off a bye week, which is helpful. The Vikings are also coming off their bye and get star WR Justin Jefferson back in the lineup. Minnesota is still starting QB Joshua Dobbs for at least one more week after consecutive losses.

Odds: Vikings -3, MIN ML -155
