Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic will not suit up for Friday’s home game against the Memphis Grizzlies but fans can breathe a small sigh of relief knowing the absence isn’t injury related. Doncic is missing the game for personal reasons, so this is likely to be a one-off instance of him being unable to suit up.

With Doncic out, Kyrie Irving will be the lead guard and primary offensive option for the Mavericks. Look for Irving to be targeted as a betting option for player props, with the over on his points, triples and assists being the most popular options. Grant Williams is also a good play as a capable three-point shooter, since the Grizzlies struggle to defend the perimeter.

The Mavericks do play Saturday, and it is possible Doncic’s personal absence causes him to miss that game against the Oklahoma City Thunder as well. Dallas won’t release an official injury report until 2 p.m. ET Saturday, so we probably won’t know Doncic’s status for Saturday’s game until then.
