Bayern Munich are enjoying a big season so far from their blockbuster signing in the offseason, as Harry Kane leads the team with 12 goals and five assists in just nine outings for Die Roten in the Bundesliga season. In addition to Kane tearing it up with his new team, Leroy Sane has added plenty of value in the attack as he’s notched eight goals and two assists on the campaign so far. Munich have yet to lose a match in the regular season, sitting in second place with 23 points after going 7-2-0 in their first nine contests.
Dortmund sit in fourth place, just two points back from their opponents as they’ve also managed to go unbeaten through their first nine matches. At 6-3-0, they’re led by Julian Brandt with four goals and four assists, while Donyell Malen and Marco Reus have each notched three goals so far. They’re coming off a disappointing 3-3 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, though it was Dortmund who had to make a comeback as Brandt scored the equalizer in the 82nd minute.
Munich will be without Joshua Kimmich for the next two matches after receiving a red card in their 8-0 trouncing of Darmstadt, but other than that they’ll be bringing in a mostly healthy squad. Dortmund haven’t been able to get a win over Munich since August of 2019 in Super Cup action, with Bayern Munich winning nine of the 10 matches they’ve played against each other since then.
With how lethal Munich’s attack is with Kane, Sane, Kinglsey Coman, and Jamal Musiala, I’m backing the visitors to take all three points in this one as they eye the top of the table.
