The USC Trojans basketball team could be getting a significant boost in the coming weeks. Bronny James, son of Lakers star LeBron James, has been fully cleared to return to basketball activities per the family spokesperson. James suffered a cardiac arrest in the summer and has been steadily recovering over the last few months hoping to get back on the court at some point.

The Trojans have a huge game coming up Saturday against Gonzaga, and it’s safe to say James won’t be available for that contest. He’s going to resume practicing next week and will likely take a couple weeks to get up to game speed and integrate himself with the other players. USC then goes on a big road trip, and it’s hard to see the Trojans pushing James back into the mix in a road environment. A home game against Cal on January 3 seems like the most ideal spot for the guard to come back.
