We break down the fantasy football outlook of Geno Smith ahead of the Seahawks Week 13 matchup against the Cowboys.

After putting together a Pro Bowl season last year, Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith has fallen back to earth in 2023. Here’s a look at if he holds any fantasy value heading into Week 13.

Fantasy Football analysis: Seahawks QB Geno Smith

Smith put together one of the his worst starts of the season last week, as he went 18-for-27 for 180 yards in the Seahawks loss to the 49ers on Thanksgiving. It was fourth time this season he’s failed to throw for more than 200 yards in a game.

Start or sit in Week 13 leagues?

Smith should be on your bench until he proves he can recapture last year’s magic. The Seahawks are stuck in an offensive funk (they haven’t scored a touchdown in three quarters and have scored just three touchdowns over their last four games. Smith also sustained a triceps contusion on his right elbow in the team’s Week 11 loss to the Rams, but said that injury didn’t impact his ability to throw against the 49ers. Still, I’d sit him out this week against a opportunistic Cowboys defense.

Player you would start ahead of Geno Smith

Smith ranks as QB19 in the FantasyPros consensus rankings, and that makes sense in this matchup. Evan a player like the Steelers’ Kenny Pickett, in a good matchup with the Cardinals, could start ahead of Smith.
