LSU Tigers star forward Angel Reese will return for Thursday’s matchup against the Virginia Tech Hokies, per head coach Kim Mulkey. The Most Outstanding Player of last year’s NCAA Tournament had missed the previous four games for the reigning national champions.

Reese’s absence has been one of the biggest storylines in the first month of the women’s college basketball season. She was benched in the second half of the team’s 109-79 victory over Kent State on November 14 and proceeded to miss the next four contests for the No. 7 Tigers. Mulkey has refused to specify to the media why the star forward has been out of action, vaguely citing “locker-room issues” following last Monday’s victory over Texas Southern. A social media spat between Reese’s mother and the mother of teammate Flau’jae Johnson only fueled further rumors and speculation for the reasoning behind Reese’s absence, but we may never get a clear answer.

LSU currently has the second-highest odds to win the national championship with +600 odds at DraftKings Sportsbook.
