The New Orleans Pelicans are hoping to get a key piece of their offense back Wednesday when they take on the Philadelphia 76ers in a matchup that’ll test their mettle as a potential title contender. Guard CJ McCollum, who suffered a collapsed lung earlier this month, is nearing a return to the court. Here’s the latest on his status for Wednesday’s game.

CJ McCollum injury updates

Update: McCollum is available for the Pelicans.

Update: McCollum is officially probable now and as all the reports have suggested, he’s set to return to the court tonight.

McCollum has officially been listed as questionable, and said he plans on playing. If he doesn’t end up playing Wednesday, he is expected to make a return to the court Friday as New Orleans is on a homestand. It sounds like the structural component of this injury is no longer a problem, and the issue will be McCollum’s fitness. If he does play, he’s likely to be on some type of minutes limit.

If McCollum does sit out Wednesday, you can look for Jordan Hawkins and Naji Marshall to be heavily involved in the New Orleans rotation. Hawkins is probably the player to target in DFS lineups due to his offensive ability. Dyson Daniels could also get some looks.
