Pick against the spread, over/under for Rockets vs. Nuggets on Wednesday, November 29

We go over some of the best betting options for Wednesday’s matchup between the Rockets and Nuggets.

Update: It looks like Gordon has been ruled out, but Jokic and Murray will get in for Denver. The line is now Nuggets -10 and the total is 217.5. We’re going to stick with Rockets +10, but take the over on the total with both of Denver’s stars back in the lineup.

Update: The Rockets are going to be without Fred VanVleet and Jae’Sean Tate, while Tari Eason is considered questionable. The line is now Nuggets -8.5 and the total has shifted to 215. Denver’s injury report hasn’t been cleared up yet, with Jokic, Murray and Gordon all questionable.

The Houston Rockets (8-7) will go on the road to take on the Denver Nuggets (12-6) on Wednesday, November 29. Tipoff from Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado is set for 9 p.m. ET, and the game will only be airing on local TV.

Houston’s injury report is light and doesn’t have any surprises. Shooting guard Victor Oladipo will miss the game with a knee injury, as will rookie forward Amen Thompson due to an ankle injury. Thompson was able to return to non-contact drills last weekend but hasn’t been cleared to even scrimmage. We’ll see if anyone rests on the second night of a back-to-back set.

Denver’s injury report is packed once again. Center Nikola Jokic (back), power forward Aaron Gordon (heel), point guard Jamal Murray (hamstring) and F Hunter Tyson (illness) are all listed as questionable. Forward Peyton Watson (illness) is probable.

The Nuggets are 7.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook. Denver is installed at -298 on the moneyline, while Houston is the +240 underdog. The point total is set at 216.5.

Rockets vs. Nuggets, 9 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Rockets +7.5

Despite their record, the Rockets are good at covering the spread. They head into this matchup 10-4-1 against the spread, which is the fourth-best cover percentage in the league. The Nuggets rank in the bottom third of the league against the spread, covering the spread in only 38.9% of their games. Even after a win (4-7) and with a day off (4-6) the numbers suggest that Denver won’t cover in this game.

Over/Under: Under 216.5

Denver and Houston rank in the top three for their games hitting the under against the point total. Houston has the second-highest percentage of games finishing under the line at 66.7%, with Denver tied at 66.7%, but one place because they’ve played more games. These teams played on November 12 and November 24, and the point totals finished at 211 and 191, respectively. Take the under here.
