Week 13 is upon us and we’re now right near the fantasy football playoffs. These next few weeks are crucial for a lot of people on the fence in their fantasy football leagues. Things will get tough in the next few weeks as a number of teams will go on bye and it’s the worst timing for it. That’s why the waiver wire becomes crucial at this point in the season. Below we take a look at a few quarterbacks to consider adding on the waiver wire in Week 12 of the NFL.

Fantasy football waiver wire: QB pickups for Week 13

Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints

Rostership: 22.9%

It’s been a rough past few weeks for the Saints and quarterback Derek Carr. The Saints already had their bye week, so you wouldn’t have to worry about him missing any weeks. When you look at what he did in that Week 5 to Week 9 window, he’s well worth picking up. In real life, it is a lot of empty and garbage time numbers, but that doesn't matter for fantasy. He threw for 300+ yards in three of those games.

Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts

Rostership: 7.3%

The Colts are actually in the playoff race and Minshew has done a great job taking over as quarterback with since Anthony Richardson went down with a season-ending injury. Minshew has been a guy who is able to fill the stat sheet through his career. Playing alongside Jonathan Taylor is a major plus for Minshew. However, you have to be careful as Taylor takes away from Minshew with his rushing ability. The Colts will need their passing game to have some success down the stretch if they ant to stay in the playoff race. Teams will stack the box and force Minshew to beat them with his arm.

Jake Browning, Cincinnati Bengals

Rostership: 5.4%

The Bengals have shown they do not care who is their quarterback as they want to throw the football all game. On Sunday, against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Browning threw the ball 26 times. It appears that the Bengals will continue to try and beat teams with the pass and Browning will be a nice bench piece in fantasy. If he can get some confidence and stack a few solid weeks, he’d be a good addition. I think Browning will have some success in garbage time in a few of their big losses down the stretch.
