The Cleveland Cavaliers have a back-to-back set over the weekend, and they’ll be hoping to get back on track after a loss to the Heat Wednesday. Cleveland will hope to have star shooting guard Donovan Mitchell back as he recovers from a hamstring injury. He’s missed the last four games with the issue. Here’s the latest on his status for Saturday’s game against the Lakers.

Donovan Mitchell injury updates

Update: Mitchell is in for the Cavaliers.

Mitchell has been deemed questionable for the contest, which is usually a sign he plans on making his return to the court. He logged a full practice Friday, so he’s definitely trending in the right direction. It’ll be interesting to see if he’s on a minutes limit to play both games of the back-to-back set, or if the Cavaliers decide to sit him Sunday after playing him Saturday.

In the event Mitchell doesn’t suit up, Darius Garland and Caris LeVert would see increased usage. Max Strus will continue to start, so LeVert’s role fluctuates the most depending on Mitchell’s status.
