Pick against the spread, over/under for Lakers vs. Cavaliers on Saturday, November 25

We go over some of the best betting options for Saturday’s matchup between the Lakers and Cavaliers.

The Los Angeles Lakers (9-7) will travel east to face the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-7) in a battle of two playoff teams from a season ago. The Lakers have dropped their last two games, while the Cavaliers lost their last outing.

Anthony Davis is probable as he continues to battle hip/groin injuries. LeBron James is deemed questionable with a calf injury, but he’s suiting up given the opponent. Donovan Mitchell, who has missed some time with a hamstring injury, is questionable and appears set to play.

The Cavaliers are 3.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total set at 224.5. Cleveland is -162 on the moneyline while Los Angeles is +136.

Lakers vs. Cavaliers, 7:30 p.m. ET

Pick ATS: Lakers +3.5

Neither team has been particularly good against the spread, with Cleveland having a 6-9 mark and LA coming in at 6-10. The Cavaliers are 2-6 ATS as a favorite this season, while the Lakers are 2-3 ATS as an underdog. Even though Cleveland won both matchups a season ago, those victories came before the trade deadline when the Lakers reshaped their roster in a big way. James usually shows out when he goes against his hometown team, and I’ll back him to keep this close or even lead the Lakers to an outright win.

Over/Under: Under 224.5

The Cavaliers are actually 9-6 to the over this season, but that’s largely due to their totals being set lower to begin with. The Lakers are 5-11 to the over. Neither team is particularly good offensively, with Cleveland sitting 24th in offensive rating and LA ranking 25th. The Lakers are ninth in defensive rating, while the Cavaliers are 15th. All these metrics lead me to take the under for Saturday’s contest.
