The Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the No. 7 Texas Longhorns in Week 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, November 24 from Austin. This marks the final regular season game for each team.

Texas controls its own destiny — with a win here, the Longhorns are headed to the Big 12 Championship Game. They could still get in with a loss, but that would require several other losses from top-ranked teams in the conference this weekend.

Texas Tech (6-5, 5-3 Big XII) is on a three-game winning streak right now. They pulled off a one-point win over UCF last week after defeating Kansas and TCU in their previous two appearances. Quarterback Behren Morton passed for 256 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception against UCF, and running back Tahj Brooks added 182 yards and a TD on the ground.

Texas (10-1, 7-1 Big XII) lost its star running back Jonathon Brooks to an ACL tear a few weeks ago, but backup CJ Baxter pulled through with a 117-yard game in the Longhorns’ Week 12 win over Iowa State. Texas has had a few close calls as of late, with three-point wins over both Kansas State and TCU in November. Can they pull away here?

Here’s everything you need to know and a pick for the game.

Our Best Bet for Texas Tech vs. Texas

Texas Tech +14

The Longhorns have been letting opponents hang around over the last few weeks, and the Red Raiders have been pulling off some close wins. While I doubt Texas Tech will come into Darrell K. Royal and win this one, Texas is missing their star running back — and, after all, it’s rivalry week. I’ll take Tech to cover.
