It seems like a full season of fighting off double teams and salvaging the league’s worst quarterback situation has finally started to catch up to New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Zach Wilson was benched for Tim Boyle in the second half last Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, but it made no difference as the 2022 Offensive Rookie of the Year had just two catches for nine yards.
Fantasy Football analysis: Jets WR Garrett Wilson
Wilson is usually going to produce because he gets a monster target share. He has eight targets last week against the Bills and that was one of his lowest numbers of the season. In the four previous games, Wilson had 14, 13, 13 and 12 targets. He hasn’t found the end zone much, but his numbers are solid across the board.
Start or sit in Week 12 PPR leagues?
Start. Wilson remains a must-start in most leagues, even with Boyle at quarterback. He and Breece Hall are the Jets’ only playmakers, so if Nathaniel Hackett is smart (that remains to be seen), he’ll just force-feed both of them the ball. Wilson is more of a WR2 than a WR1 right now though because the Jets quarterback situation is so bad and Wilson will likely draw Jalen Ramsey in coverage.
Start or sit in Week 12 standard leagues?
Start. In standard leagues, Wilson’s value is slightly diminished because the Jets offense is allergic to the end zone, but he remains a must-start, especially with an expected high target share.
Player(s) you would start ahead of Garrett Wilson
You can start anyone in the WR2 range that has a functional quarterback. Zach Wilson was bad enough, but the only reason Boyle is in the league is because Aaron Rodgers is his buddy. Chris Godwin against the Indianapolis Colts is a good matchup as is Rashee Rice against the Las Vegas Raiders.
