Logan Thomas has gone from intriguing streaming option to a solid starter in fantasy football lineups over the course of this season. What’s pushing him upwards is that the Washington Commanders tight end is seeing a regular volume of targets in an offense that throw the ball more than any other team in the NFL.
This week, Thomas and the Commanders have a Thanksgiving Day game on tap with the Dallas Cowboys.
Fantasy Football analysis: Commanders TE Logan Thomas
Thomas saw eight targets last week against the Giants, catching five of those for 58 yards. The biggest downside to his performance was a fumble in the first half. He’s now seen at least five targets for five straight games, with no fewer than 31 yards in any of those contests. He’s found the end zone three times this season, but only once in his last six.
While their pass defense has been otherwise outstanding, Dallas is middle of the pack against opposing tight ends. They’ve given up six touchdowns to tight ends, tied for most in the NFL.
Start or sit in Week 12 PPR leagues?
Start Thomas this week in any PPR league, regardless of size. He’s getting a steady volume of targets that can boost his fantasy scoring even on a down day in the box score.
Start or sit in Week 12 standard leagues?
Start Thomas in standard formats too. There’s some upside this week for a touchdown against this Dallas defense.
Player(s) you would start ahead of Logan Thomas
David Njoku of the Browns is a better option than Thomas this week, if you have the choice. He’s got a very favorable matchup against the Broncos, and he looks like Dorian Thompson-Robinson’s safety valve in that offense.
