Remember way, way back when Washington Commanders tight end Jahan Dotson played his way into the WR3 conversation in fantasy football? A lot of us went out and nabbed him off the waiver wire in the hopes of reviving our sagging fortunes, only to see him post a real dud a week after two monster games.
Such is life. But now we’re wondering if Dotson could bounce back into the conversation of worth streaming options with a Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Dallas Cowboys?
Fantasy Football analysis: Commanders WR Jahan Dotson
Dotson’s start turn came in Weeks 8 and 9, followed by a zero-catch outing in Week 10. He did a little better last week, catching three passes on four targets for 23 yards. His production was salvaged with a touchdown grab against the Giants in that one.
The problem with Dotson is that he’s not seeing many targets in an offense throwing the ball more than any other team in the NFL.
Dallas is one of the toughest defenses for opposing wideouts, third best.
Start or sit in Week 12 PPR leagues?
Dotson’s a risky player. I would sit him in smaller leagues, where you can find more reliable options. But if you’re in a larger league, 12 teams or more, he’s worth a start based on the upside we’ve seen from time to time this season.
Start or sit in Week 12 standard leagues?
Sit Dotson in smaller leagues. In larger leagues, with 12 teams or more, he’s not a bad player to take a flyer on this week. I think Dallas will be especially keyed in on Terry McLaurin
Player(s) you would start ahead of Jahan Dotson
Christian Watson of the Packers is healthy and on track to play this week, so I’d try to get him into the lineup over Dotson this week.
