The fantasy playoffs are almost here, which means starting a player with an advantageous matchup is even more important than usual this week. Here’s a look at three quarterbacks who have strong matchups this week.
Fantasy football, Week 12: Best QB Matchups
Jordan Love vs. Detroit Lions
Love and the Packers are taking on the Lions on Thursday in Detroit’s annual Thanksgiving game, and I’m expecting this year’s iteration to turn into a shootout. Love coming off a game where he threw for 322 yards and two touchdowns (his third straight week finishing as a top-15 fantasy quarterback) and will be going against a Lions defense that’s allowed 16 touchdowns through the air. Love isn’t the most consistent player in the NFL, but he should be able to get the job done on Thursday.
Derek Carr vs. Atlanta Falcons
Carr and the Saints are back in action after a bye week and will be going against a Falcons team that’s fading fast. While Carr’s still in the concussion protocol, he’d thrown multiple touchdown passes in two games prior to getting hurt and at least one touchdown pass in his last five. He also hasn’t thrown an interception in three weeks. If Carr’s back, he should excel against the Falcons.
Lamar Jackson vs. Los Angeles Chargers
At this point, you should run the ‘whoever offense’ against the Los Angeles Chargers. They’ve allowed a league-leading 2,916 passing yards and just got gashed for 322 yards through the air by Love. Jackson threw for 264 yards and rushed for 54 last week against the Bengals, and should once again excel as a dual threat against the Chargers.
