The NFL season is cruising along as we’re already to Week 12. The fantasy football playoff picture is coming together and there are only a few more weeks before it starts regardless of league size. We also have a number of bye weeks this late in the year. Six teams are on bye week in Week 13 and two more in Week 14. Below we take a look a few players that are probably available in your league that you should consider adding for the playoff push.
Week 12 Fantasy football waiver wire pickups
Zach Charbonnet, RB, Seattle Seahawks
Rostership: 32.4%
This will probably be the most added player from the waiver wire in fantasy leagues this week. Kenneth Walker went down with an oblique strain that seems serious. I would expect that he misses multiple weeks which gives Charbonnet the keys to this run game. This was the reason they drafted this guy. I expect him to take on a major role in the offense and he should be the first waiver move you make heading into the week. Charbonnet had 15 carries for 47 yards and six receptions for 22 yards last week as Walker suffered the injury in the first quarter.
Luke Musgrave, TE, Green Bay Packers
Rostership: 28.3%
Musgrave was one of the best tight ends in this year's draft. He’s had an up-and-down rookie season, but he’s had a big role in the offense. Musgrave has 50+ receiving yards in two of his last three games. The main reason you should grab him while you can is because of the Packers passing game increasing. Jordan Love has looked confident throwing the ball over the past few weeks and Musgrave has been one of his favorite targets.
Brandon Powell, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Rostership: 2.2%
Powell has been solid since Josh Dobbs took over as the starting quarterback. He’s a decent add in PPR leagues. With Justin Jefferson returning soon, many would stay away from Powell, but I still would expect him to get on the field. His play style is different than any of the other wide receivers they have. Once Jefferson returns, it would not surprise me to see Pilal run some routes out of the backfield even more than he already has.
Isaiah Likely, TE, Baltimore Ravens
Rostership: 0.9%
This is my favorite add of the week for all leagues. With Mark Andrews going down, Likely should be one of the top players added in fantasy football. We saw Likely breakout last season down the stretch and the Ravens will need some more of that. Likely is a lot faster and more athletic than the normal tight end which is why he’s a strong option in the passing game. Lamar Jackson likes looking Likely’s way, so I would not be surprised to see Likely put up big numbers down the stretch.
