The defending champions Denver Nuggets were dealt a big blow early in the season with Jamal Murray’s hamstring injury, putting him out until at least the end of November. Nikola Jokic, who has become a heavy MVP favorite, has picked up the slack in a big way and kept the team near the top of the standings despite Murray’s absence. Jokic is averaging 28.8 points, 13.8 rebounds and 9.0 rebounds this season.
Luka Doncic, Joel Embiid and Jayson Tatum have managed to stay within striking distance of Jokic, largely because their respective teams have gotten off to strong starts. However, it’s looking like it’ll be a third MVP award for the Nuggets big man. Grabbing him at +190 feels like tremendous value.
