The Houston Rockets (6-5) will meet the Golden State Warriors (6-8) Monday evening in a matchup of two teams trending in different directions. The Rockets have surprised many by being around .500 early in the year, while the Warriors have dropped six straight contests after starting strong.
We’ll see what Houston does on the second night of a back-to-back set in terms of resting guys. Draymond Green remains suspended for the Warriors but everyone else appears to be ready to go.
The Warriors are 7-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, with the total coming in at 220. Golden State is -270 on the moneyline while Houston is +220.
Rockets vs. Warriors, 10 p.m. ET
Pick ATS: Rockets +7
It’s hard to back Houston as a road favorite, especially since the Rockets haven’t won a game yet away from home. They’re also coming off a game Sunday, which could lead to some extra fatigue. However, this is about Golden State being in a bad spot right now. Nothing seems to go right for the Warriors over the last week and Green being out has hurt them defensively. Golden State won the previous meeting between these two sides but this seems like a completely different team right now. Take the Rockets to cover.
Over/Under: Over 220
The Rockets are one of the better defensive teams in the league, while the Warriors are in a rut. Houston could have some fatigue on the second night of a back-to-back so there could be some additional slippage. Houston is 3-8 to the under this season, while Golden State is 7-7 to the over but has gone over in four of the last five. I expect a little more fight from the Warriors tonight and the Rockets will need to match that. Take the over.
