The Milwaukee Bucks looked like themselves Friday evening in Charlotte, taking down the Hornets in a dominant 130-99 win to grab their third straight victory. Giannis Antetokounmpo shined in the contest, registering 16 points, nine assists and eight rebounds in 28 minutes of action. The Greek Freak is nursing a calf injury, so here’s the latest on his status for Saturday’s game against the Mavericks.
Giannis Antetokounmpo injury updates
Update: Antetokounmpo is listed as probable for Saturday’s game against the Mavericks, so he’s going to suit up. Middleton is out, as is Beauchamp. Connaughton and Beasley are good value adds with this injury report.
The second game of a back-to-back set seems to be in question for more players now, with an increased emphasis on preserving them for when the games really start to count. Antetokounmpo’s calf injury carried an official designation of injury management, which also suggests he’ll be sitting this game. We won’t know his official status Saturday until about 2 p.m. ET when the report gets released. I’d expect him to be listed as questionable.
If Antetokounmpo doesn’t play, we will likely see Bobby Portis having a big role in the frontcourt. Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton’s statuses will also be up in the air on the second night of a back-to-back set, with the latter likely out. Malik Beasley, MarJon Beauchamp and Pat Connaughton could all be solid DFS value plays for Saturday’s game.
