The Fresno State Bulldogs will try to stay alive in the Mountain West Conference title race tonight when hosting the New Mexico Lobos at 10:30 p.m. ET and the status of quarterback Mikey Keene is unknown heading into the contest. Keene exited the second quarter of last week’s game against San Jose State and head coach Jeff Tedford later revealed that he had displayed minor concussion symptoms. Backup Logan Fife took over in an eventual 42-18 blowout loss for the Bulldogs.
Keene has been excellent in his first year with the program and has led them to a position of potentially defending their MWC title from last season. Through nine games, the UCF transfer has completed 67.1% of his passes for 2,348 yards with 21 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He’s also been banged up before as he missed last month’s game at Utah State with an ankle injury. Fife stepped in his place in that game, throwing for 291 yards and a touchdown in a 37-32 victory for the Bulldogs.
Fresno State enters this game as a heavy 23.5-point favorite at DraftKings Sportbook. The total is listed at 59.
