NASCAR has reached the penultimate weekend of the 2023 regular season for its top two circuits. The Cup Series and Xfinity Series will each finalize their Championship race competitors this weekend at Martinsville Speedway. The Truck Series wrapped up its regular season last weekend and awaits the Craftsman 150 at Phoenix Raceway next week to determine its champ.
The weekend opens with Xfinity practice and qualifying on Friday followed by the Dead On Tools 250 on Saturday. The race airs on USA Network at 3:30 p.m. ET. John H. Nemechek is the defending champ and is competing for one of the four Championship race spots. Nemechek is the favorite to win Saturday’s race at DraftKings Sportsbook. He’s installed at +220, with Cole Custer following at +400. Sam Mayer is currently the only driver to clinch advancement to the Championship race, leaving three spots to be claimed.
The Cup Series will run practice and qualifying on Saturday, and then the Xfinity 500 on Sunday. The race airs on NBC at 2 p.m. Christopher Bell is the defending champ and coming off a win last week at Homestead-Miami Speedway to punch his ticket to the Championship race. Denny Hamlin is a heavy favorite to win Sunday’s race at DraftKings Sportsbook. He’s installed at +275 and Kyle Larson follows at +700. Bell and Larson have clinched spots in the Championship race, leaving two to be claimed.
