It’s hard to believe, but the NBA is back. After a wild offseason that saw Chris Paul join the Warriors and Bradley Beal join Devin Booker and Kevin Durant in the desert, the Warriors and Suns open their season Tuesday night at Chase Center. Tipoff is set for 10:30 p.m. ET
Bradley Beal and Devin Booker are listed as questionable for the Suns, but Beal is not expected to play due to a back injury. Booker is dealing with a foot issue. Draymond Green has been ruled out for Golden State with an ankle injury.
The Warriors are 2.5-point favorites at DraftKings Sportsbook, while the total is set at 233.5. Golden State is -142 on the moneyline, while Phoenix is +120.
Suns vs. Warriors, 10 p.m. ET (TNT)
Pick ATS: Suns +2.5
It’s hard to believe, but this will be Kevin Durant’s first game playing in front of opposing fans at Chase Center since he left Golden State (his only other trip to the Bay came in early 2021 when fans weren’t allowed in the arena). KD scored 32 points in his last two season openers, and I’m expecting him to put together another masterclass tonight. The Warriors replaced Jordan Poole with Chris Paul, which will be a downgrade on the court even if it’ll help the locker room. I like Phoenix’s chances to steal one behind a big effort from Durant.
Over/Under: Over 233.5
Offense, offense, offense. There were two of the top scoring teams in the preseason, and I’m expecting that to carry over into the regular season. While these teams don’t have a ton of scoring depth, I’m expecting the stars to make their presence felt on the offensive end. Even with a higher total, the over is the move for this game.
