It’s a loaded NBA slate Wednesday with 11 games, headlined by ESPN’s doubleheader featuring Heat-Celtics and Suns-Warriors. Here’s Wednesday’s injury report in the association, along with the relevant fantasy and betting implications.
NBA Injury Report: March 30
Dallas Mavericks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
Trey Burke (protocols) OUT
Spencer Dinwiddie (load management) OUT
Update - With Dinwiddie out, both Brunson and Bullock look like strong plays against the Cavaliers.
With Burke out for the second game of the back-to-back, fans will likely see Reggie Bullock and Jalen Brunson take on bigger roles offensively. The Mavericks could choose to rest some guys, so there may be some additions to this report.
Rajon Rondo (ankle) OUT
Evan Mobley (ankle) OUT
Update - As expected, Rondo is not suiting up for this contest. Even though the Mavs are on a back-to-back, the Cavaliers are probably down too many key players to be considered favorites here.
Mobley is out, opening up more minutes for Kevin Love and Ed Davis in the frontcourt. Rondo is doubtful, meaning Darius Garland and Brandon Goodwin continue to split point guard duties.
Denver Nuggets vs. Indiana Pacers
JaMychal Green (wrist) OUT
Update - Green has been ruled out, opening up minutes for Gordon and Green in this game.
With Green questionable, Aaron Gordon and Jeff Green are in line to potentially see some additional work.
Malcolm Brogdon (rest) OUT
Isaiah Jackson (headache) OUT
Chris Duarte (toe) OUT
Update - The Pacers have embraced the tank, which means Brogdon and Jackson are both out for this game. Goga Bitadze will play and represents a decent value add with Jackson out.
The Pacers are playing their younger guys more, so continue to roll with Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield as decent fantasy/DFS options.
Orlando Magic vs. Washington Wizards
Wendell Carter Jr. (wrist) OUT
Jalen Suggs (ankle) OUT
Both Carter Jr. and Suggs are out, so Markelle Fultz, Cole Anthony and Mo Bamba should be the top fantasy/DFS players for Orlando Wednesday.
Kyle Kuzma (knee) OUT
Update - Kuzma was initially listed as doubtful, but he’s now been officially ruled out.
Kuzma is out, and the Wizards might not play Kristaps Porzingis on the second night of the back-to-back set. Daniel Gafford is in line for big minutes here.
Miami Heat vs. Boston Celtics
Duncan Robinson (illness) available
Gabe Vincent (toe) available
Caleb Martin (calf) OUT
Update - Robinson and Vincent are in, while Martin is out. Oladipo could see some extended minutes here, but Tyler Herro is also likely to command some of Martin’s playing time.
The Heat stars are good to go, but Robinson would be a significant value miss if he sits. Victor Oladipo could see more minutes if Martin sits, while Kyle Lowry’s ceiling goes up if Vincent is ruled out.
Jayson Tatum (knee) available
Jaylen Brown (knee) available
Al Horford (personal) available
Update - Both Tatum and Brown are in, giving the Celtics a full complement of players outside of Robert Williams for tonight’s game.
Tatum and Brown are likely to play, while Horford does return after a short absence. Grant Williams remains a nice play with Robert Williams out, but the rest of Boston’s lineup might not deliver much production outside of the star forwards.
Charlotte Hornets vs. New York Knicks
Evan Fournier (personal) available
Update - Fournier is set to play and represents a decent addition to DFS lineups in what should be a high-scoring game.
If Fournier does not go, look for the Knicks to give more minutes to Alec Burks and Immanuel Quickley in the backcourt.
Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Toronto Raptors
No notable day-to-day injuries for either team at this time.
Sacramento Kings vs. Houston Rockets
De’Aaron Fox (hand) OUT
Fox remains out, and the Kings don’t know if he or Domantas Sabonis will return this season. Keep running Davion Mitchell as the value play for this team.
Christian Wood (hamstring) OUT
Eric Gordon (groin) OUT
Alperen Sengun (leg) OUT
Update - Sengun was deemed “unlikely to play” earlier in the day and has now formally been ruled out. So much for the promising center being a potential value add in Wednesday’s slate.
The Rockets are clearly tanking here, with both Wood and Gordon out. If Sengun plays, he’ll get some significant run as a future piece. Jalen Green and Jae’Sean Tate are the top fantasy/DFS additions on Houston.
Atlanta Hawks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Danilo Gallinari (elbow) OUT
De’Andre Hunter (knee) available
Update - Hunter is in for Wednesday’s contest and should get decent minutes with Gallinari out.
Update - Gallinari has been ruled out and Hunter is a game-time call. That elevates Huerter and Bogdanovic in fantasy/DFS formats.
If both these guys get ruled out, Kevin Huerter and Bogdan Bogdanovic should see additional opportunities against a bad Thunder team.
Tre Mann (hamstring) OUT
Update - Mann, who represents the highest upside play on the Thunder, has been ruled out once again.
Mann is questionable and would be a great value play if he does suit up with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander done for the season.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. San Antonio Spurs
Jaren Jackson Jr. (thigh) available
Update - Jackson Jr. is available and will start for the Grizzlies against the Spurs.
If Jackson Jr. sits, Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke should man the frontcourt for Memphis.
Lonnie Walker (back) available
Update - As expected, Walker is available and will be a key rotation piece for San Antonio Wednesday.
With Walker back in the rotation, look for Keldon Johnson and Josh Primo to sacrifice some minutes.
Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors
Cameron Johnson (quad) OUT
JaVale McGee (illness) OUT
Update - Johnson, who was listed as doubtful, is officially out for Wednesday’s contest against the Warriors.
Johnson remains out doubtful, boosting Jae Crowder and Mikal Bridges in fantasy/DFS formats. With McGee out, look for Torrey Craig and Bismack Biyombo to get backup center minutes behind Deandre Ayton.
Klay Thompson (load management) available
Draymond Green (load management) available
Otto Porter Jr. (load management) available
The Warriors veterans are back in the mix, but Jordan Poole and Jonathan Kuminga are always strong value plays.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Portland Trail Blazers
Jonas Valanciunas (foot) available
Larry Nance Jr. (knee) available
Update - Both Valanciunas and Nance Jr. are in for the Pelicans Wednesday night against Portland. Both should have decent roles and put up solid numbers against a horrendous Blazers unit waiting for the season to mercifully end.
If Valanciunas sits, Nance Jr. is in line for big minutes against his former team. He would become one of the top value additions in fantasy/DFS contests, especially if his price point is reasonable.
