Thursday update: The Warriors will re-evaluate Curry in two weeks, but they expect him to be out closer to a month per Shams Charania. Golden State has about 12 games without its star in this timeline and while it’s not the end of the world, it’s certainly not ideal given where the team sits in the standings.

Thursday update: Curry is going to miss “a few weeks” with his shoulder injury, and that’s really bad for the Warriors considering where they are in the standings. They have been bad on the road and have to wrap up this trip without their star now. Golden State does get back at home for Christmas Day but this could be a team 3-4 games under .500 at that point.

This also greatly impacts the MVP race, as Curry was among the contenders early in the season. With him missing some time, players like Ja Morant and Zion Williamson can continue to make up ground.

The Warriors will likely deploy Jordan Poole at point guard and should be getting Andrew Wiggins back. Their unity is going to be tested here and it’ll be a miracle if they can remain around .500 by the time Curry does return.

Update: Curry will be out for the rest of this game with a shoulder injury.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry went to the locker room Wednesday against the Indiana Pacers with an arm injury. Curry entered the matchup with a questionable tag due to an ankle issue, so this is a new injury for the star.

As if things couldn’t get any worse for the Warriors, they might now have to navigate an already daunting road trip without their star. Golden State has been abysmal away from home, to the point where there is real concern about the ceiling of this group. Curry was the lone shining light for this team, performing at a MVP level in any environment.

If Curry cannot return and is out for an extended period of time, look for Jordan Poole and Donte DiVincenzo to take on bigger roles in the offense. Moses Moody might also get more minutes as Poole takes on more point guard duties. Golden State’s playoff hopes might hinge on the diagnosis of this injury.
