The Detroit Lions performed well offensively against the Seattle Seahawks last week, but came up just short in a 48-45 loss. Operating the controls at quarterback was Jared Goff, who put up one of his best statistical performances since joining the team last season.
With the Lions set to hit the road to battle the New England Patriots this weekend, we’ll go over whether or not Goff will be worth a start for fantasy football in Week 5.
Fantasy Football analysis: Lions QB Jared Goff
Goff went 26-39 through the air for 378 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in the loss. He was a top performer in fantasy football last Sunday earning managers 34.2 points for the week. It marked his best fantasy game since Week 4 of the 2018 season with the Los Angeles Rams.
Start or sit in Week 5?
It’s highly unlikely that Goff will replicate last week’s performance, especially with D.J. Chark out and Amon-Ra St. Brown questionable. The team will most likely keep riding the consistent production of Jamaal Williams. As far as Goff goes, sit him unless you have an emergency at quarterback.
