Friday update: Jones has been ruled out with an ankle injury for Week 18. Ke’Shawn Vaughn and Le’Veon Bell should handle the bulk of the running back work.

Friday update: The good news is that Jones was out of his walking boot, but it’s Friday and he isn’t practicing. There’s little doubt he won’t play this weekend.

Thursday update: Jones was once again a DNP on Thursday.

Wednesday PM update: Jones was officially a DNP for practice on Wednesday.

Wednesday update: Per Scott Smith of the Bucs official team site, Jones is in a walking boot and the team will see later in the week if he can run. It looks like Ke’Shawn Vaughn and Le’Veon Bell are going to be the team’s running backs in Week 18.

Wednesday update: Jones wasn’t spotted at the beginning of practice on Wednesday, per Rick Stroud. We have yet to learn the results of his MRI, but he looks iffy to play in the season finale.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones was forced from their Week 17 game with an ankle injury and now will undergo an MRI to see the extent of the damage, per ESPN’s Jenna Laine.

The Buccaneers are hurting offensively, with Chris Godwin done for the season, Antonio Brown released, and Leonard Fournette on I.R. Now Jones has an ankle injury and Ke’Shawn Vaughn is dealing with a ribs injury.

They’ve secured the NFC West title and the No. 3 seed, but a Rams loss to the 49ers and a Bucs win over the Panthers would move them to the No. 2 seed. Head coach Bruce Arians says they will play, but there’s no doubt they won’t push injured players.

Fantasy football implications

Jones seems pretty iffy to play this week, while Vaughn appears to have a much better shot. If he can go, he should have some fantasy upside this week.
