The 2022 Farmers Insurance Open has entered Day 2 despite it only being Thursday. We break down where the cut line stands throughout the day.

Final update: The cut line was -3. 79 players made the cut

Update 5:43 p.m. There are 78 players at -3 or better right now, which won’t bring the -2 players into the equation. And with the easier side of the North Course being the back nine, it’s possible we could get even lower, but unlikely.

Matthew Wolff is -2 thru 15, and will need a late birdie to get to tomorrow. Jason Dufner is at -1 and finished, so he’ll be heading home. As will Bryson DeChambeau and Rickie Fowler unless they can subtract two strokes on the last four holes. They’re both -1 thru 14.

Update 4:34 p.m. Right now 76 golfers are on the good side of -3 at Torrey Pines, including 16 exactly at -3. Matthew Wolff and Bryson DeChambeau amongst those that just made the turn on the number exactly.

Last year’s winner Patrick Reed has some work to do to survive, as he’s at -2 through 11. Tony Finau finished T2 last year, but he’s at -1 through 14 and will need to make some birdies on the finishing holes. Brooks Koepka doesn’t look long for this tournament either, as he’s even through 11.

The PGA Tour tees off the second round of the 2022 Farmers Insurance Open on Thursday from both the North and South Course at Torrey Pines in beautiful La Jolla, California.

The first trios tee off on Thursday at 12:00 p.m. ET and the final groups will be on the course at 2:00 p.m. ET. But there’s a long way to go before we find out what the field looks like for the final rounds, both to be played on the South Course.

How is the cut line determined?

The cut line at 36 holes is the top 65 players, plus those tied for whatever the cut line score ends up being.

What is the cut line for the Farmers Insurance Open?

Early in Thursday’s round, nineteen players are tied at -2, all at T-53. Expect the cut line to be somewhere between -1 and -3 depending on course conditions in San Diego today.

Who is not projected to make the cut?

Paul Barjon was in contention last week until Sunday, but he’ll likely go home after today as he enters at +5. Phil Mickelson has won this tournament twice, but he’ll need some home cooking to play the weekend as he’s +4 as of now.
