The Miami Hurricanes escaped Blacksburg with a massive 78-75 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies via a miracle buzzer beater from guard Charlie Moore on Tuesday night.

The Hurricanes closed as a 5-point underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook, and for a team which has plenty of quality wins but also questionable losses, it could be a major factor to their fate on Selection Sunday.

The Canes scored the last eight points of the game, all in the last two minutes. Jordan Miller led all scorers with 19 points on 7-9 from the floor, and added seven rebounds as well. In what was a well-played game, both teams shot over 50% from the field, and the Canes going 11-18 from three-point range as a team.

The Hokies turned the ball over 14 times against 10 for Miami, with 23 points off turnovers for Miami. With the win, Miami moves to 7-2 in the ACC and takes over first place, with both Duke and Florida State at 6-2 with a game in hand.

The Hurricanes are back on the court Saturday vs. Georgia Tech at noon in Atlanta.
