Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen agree to six-year extension worth $258 million

Josh Allen gets a huge extension before the 2021 season.

Will Josh Allen continue his dominance in 2021?

The Buffalo Bills have secured their franchise quarterback Josh Allen with a $258 million, six-year extension, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Allen will also receive a big $150 million in guaranteed money. He becomes the highest paid quarterback in the league with an annual salary averaging out at $43 million a year. Allen made a big leap in 2020, showing that he is worth an extension.

Allen threw for 4,544 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions and added 102 carries for 421 yards and eight rushing touchdowns which led the league in fantasy points. He also helped the Bills to the AFC East championship and the AFC Championship game, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Bills will look to take the next step this season and get to the Super Bowl, but with Allen at just 25 years of age, there should be plenty of opportunities for the Bills to compete for AFC dominance. The Bills and Chiefs look like they will have a good shot at being at the top of the AFC for a long time to come.
