Triller and Fite.TV are pairing up for a new event on Tuesday, August 3rd that both parties are hoping appeal to a cross-section of fans. A nine-fight card has been set to kick off the TrillerVerz boxing series by Triller Fight Club. The event will combine boxing and music into what they expect to be a monthly series. It is scheduled to take place at Madison Square Garden.
The inaugural card is topped by a WBA heavyweight eliminator bout between Michael Hunter and Mike Wilson. Five different fighters currently hold some version of a WBA heavyweight championship because, well, boxing. Anthony Joshua is the “Super” champion, Trevor Bryan is the “World” champion, Mahmoud Charr is the champion in recess, Robert Helenius is the “Gold” champion, and Daniel Dubois is the “interim” champ and No. 1 ranked contender. Hunter is currently the sixth-ranked WBA heavyweight while Wilson is 14th.
The broadcast starts at 5:30 p.m. ET and will air via live stream on Fite.TV for free. The full nine-fight card is listed below. Following the various bouts, The Lox and Dipset will square off in a Verzuz Battle that is scheduled to get started at 9 p.m. ET. Given the competitive nature of the card, I suppose The Lox vs. Dipset might be what really qualifies as the mian event for some folks!
