The last time I gave out some best bets for baseball late last month, we went a perfect 3-0 on the day. For those readers who are keeping count, the record now stands at 20-17, which is not bad. We will try to start off the month of August on a hot streak with a loaded 14-game slate on Tuesday night with the first game starting at 7:05 p.m. ET between the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals.

Here we’re going to be tracking all the best MLB picks base on the odds and lines on DraftKings Sportsbook for Tuesday night’s baseball action.

MLB picks for Tuesday, August 3rd - Record YTD (20-17)

Mariners Team Total Over Runs 3.5 (-105)

For our first best bet, we are going to head down to the Sunshine state where the Seattle Mariners are taking on the Tampa Bay Rays. On paper, you would think that the Rays are the better team and should have no problem with Seattle. However, that has not been the case this season.

The Mariners currently lead the season series 5-0 after defeating the Rays 8-2 on Monday night. Seattle will look to make it a perfect 6-0 with Yusei Kikuchi on the mound, who has been one of their best starting pitchers this season. But instead of playing the moneyline, which has the Rays favored at -160. I’m going to go with the Mariners’ team total. In their five meetings this season, the Mariners has gone over 3.5 runs each time and averaging 6.2 runs per game. Seattle will going be up against Rays starter Luis Patino, who has allowed 9 earned runs in his last three starts.

Red Sox (-145) vs. Tigers

Boston has struggled recently, losing their four consecutive games, but could be due to break out their slump tonight against Tigers starter Wily Peralta. The Red Sox have the 8th-best road offense in the majors, averaging 4.73 runs per game. Peralta owns a record of 3-2 and 3.64 ERA, but has allowed 11 earned runs in his last two starts.

As for Boston, they have Garrett Richards on the mound, who has struggled the last two months with ERAs soaring over 5.00. When compare his splits between home and the road, Richards has been better away from Fenway Park with a 4.14 ERA and 4-2 record. In his last five road outings, the Red Sox have a record 3-2 and are producing 6.2 runs per game. Back the BoSox on the ML at one of the better prices on Tuesday’s slate.
