“I’m back, and I’m back for you.”

The biggest pop in wrestling history? If it isn’t, it’s on the Top Five list. Holy moly.

Let’s just say the crowd was a bit excited to see The Best In The World return to the squared circle. It probably didn’t hurt it was in his hometown of Chicago, but it likely would be almost as loud anywhere in the world.

And like many of the 23,000 in the United Center, it’s still real to this guy.

And once again we POP FOR THE SHIRT.

“I’m back because there’s a couple of scores to settle in that locker room.”

He called out Darby Allin, who was standing next to his tag team partner and another legend in the ring in Sting.

“I see you. You’re good,” he says to the young daredevil that is one of the rising starts of wrestling. “But I’m here to help,” he says, and challenges Allin to a match at AEW All Out on September 5th, also in Chicago. All Out was already going to be one of the best shows of the year, but now it might be unforgettable.

And his finisher was even more amazing. “Grab yourself a free ice cream bar on me.”

If you don’t get the reference, this was nine years ago.

Welcome back, CM Punk. It’s probably going to work out for you in AEW.
