Manny Pacquiao is back this weekend! The eight-division champ returns for his first fight in two years and will face Yordenis Ugas for the WBA Super welterweight championship. Pacquiao was scheduled to fight WBC/IBF champ Errol Spence, Jr., but the latter withdrew ten days, but Spence withdrew ten days ago due to an eye injury. Ugas stepped in to put his belt on the line.
The weigh-in for this fight is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET on Friday, August 20. It will be available via live stream at FITE.tv and I imagine ESPN will offer some highlights from it on SportsCenter. The max weight for welterweight fights is 147 pounds.
Pacquiao enters the fight as a -360 favorite to win at DraftKings Sportsbook while Ugas is a +275 underdog. Pacquiao was an underdog heading into his fight against the undefeated Spence, so this is a significant turn in expectations. Ugas is the titleholder after the WBA promoted him from the “Regular” title when they stripped Pacquiao of his “Super” title in January due to inactivity.
