We have a loaded 15-game schedule in the majors Friday, which means there are multiple opportunities to come away with a win in DraftKings baseball DFS. The main slate has 14 games starting at 7:05 p.m. ET.
Sometimes with a plus-matchup on the MLB game slate, we get an opportunity to slot multiple players from the same team into our DFS lineups. You can learn more about MLB DFS strategy, including team stacks, here.
Here, we’ll break down three of the best team stacks for the MLB slate on Friday, August 20th.
Braves vs. Orioles, 7:05 p.m. ET
Austin Riley ($5,700)
Freddie Freeman ($5,500)
Joc Pederson ($3,800)
After sweeping the Miami Marlins in dominating fashion, the Atlanta Braves will travel up the east coast to take on the Baltimore Orioles Friday night. DraftKings Sportsbook believes this game will have a ton scoring as the total is currently at 10.5. The Braves have won their last six games and are outscoring their opponents by 22 runs in their last 10 games. Meanwhile, the O’s have lost 15 consecutive games and will have Keegan Akin on the mound.
Akin has struggled this season for Baltimore with a 0-7 record and 8.19 ERA. The Braves’ offense should not have problems with Akin and could be due for another high-scoring performance in DFS. Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman is a must-start for most DFS players after he hit for the cycle on Wednesday and scored 40 fantasy points.
Rangers vs. Red Sox, 7:10 p.m. ET
Xander Bogaerts ($5,500)
Hunter Renfoe ($4,400)
Alex Verdugo ($3,300)
Another game where we could see a lot of runs scored is between the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox are looking to get back into the win column after they got swept by the New York Yankees in three games. Boston will welcome Rangers pitcher Dane Dunning to Fenway Park, who has not pitched well on the road to the tune of 6.45 ERA and .307 opponents batting average.
When it comes to the Red Sox’s offense, it’s easy to stack your DFS lineup with their top sluggers. But we are going to throw Hunter Renfoe and Alex Verdugo in the mix, who are relatively cheap and could provide your lineup with on-base points and a home run or two.
Diamondbacks vs. Rockies, 8:10 p.m. ET
C.J. Cron ($4,900)
Charlie Blackmon ($4,700)
Brendan Rodgers ($4,600)
Our final team stack for tonight’s slate will be the Colorado Rockies, who are beginning a series at Coors Field with the Arizona Diamondbacks. DraftKings Sportsbook has the run total set at 11.5, which is the highest on the board. Colorado will be going up against Tyler Gilbert, who just threw a no-hitter last week against the San Diego Padres.
The Rockies have won 4 out of their last 5 games, which includes a three-game sweep over the Padres. Colorado first baseman C.J. Cron averaged 17.3 FPPG against San Diego earlier this week and hit two home runs.
