Why Kirk Cousins will go OVER or UNDER passing yards, TDs totals for 2021 NFL season

Kirk Cousins joined the Vikings in 2018, but he has already become the second longest-tenured starting quarterback in the NFC North. Will 2021 play out differently than his previous three seasons in Minnesota?

The marriage between Kirk Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings will continue in 2021, a relationship that has not always met expectations but has still resulted in solid production. Cousins, now the second longest-tenured starting quarterback in the NFC North, looks to build on the progress made during the back stretch of last season.

Here, we take a look at the prop bets on the table for Cousins on DraftKings Sportsbook ahead of the 2021 NFL season and make our picks.

4200.5 passing yards: Over (-110) or Under (-115)

Our pick: Over

Cousins has proven to be remarkably durable, missing just one game over his last six seasons. During that stretch, he eclipsed 4,200 passing yards three times and would have done so with a 17th game in two others. The Vikings offense might never fully open up under head coach Mike Zimmer, but it remains a highly efficient passing attack with considerable weaponry. With new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak retaining the system his father ran in 2020, Cousins should feel right at home.

28.5 passing TDs: Over (-110) or Under (-120)

Our pick: Over

Cousins set a career high for passing touchdowns last season (35), a mark which looks like a clear outlier for the veteran signal-caller. In the five seasons that directly preceded 2020, he averaged 27.4 touchdown passes and fell below the total here three times. The extra game on the schedule should help Cousins, but that doesn’t make the over that much more enticing.
