Veteran G/F Will Barton has signed a two-year, $32 million contract with the Denver Nuggets in free agency, per Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports. Barton declined a $14.7 million player option for the 2021-22 season to stick with the Denver Nuggets.

Barton will enter a decade of being an NBA player and spent the last seven years with Denver after being drafted in the second round by the Portland Trail Blazers. Barton has been very unlucky injury-wise, so he will be an interesting case moving forward. He missed about a month and a half at the end of the 2020-21 season before returning for the Western Conference semifinals where the Nuggets were swept by the Phoenix Suns.

Barton will be 30 years old when the 2021-22 season starts, and he has made a lot of money in recent years especially for somebody who was a second round pick. He had a salary of $13.7 million last season, and there was plenty of speculation he would return to the Nuggets this offseason.

Barton appeared in 56 games with 52 starts in the 2020-21 season for the Nuggets. He averaged 12.7 points and four rebounds with 3.2 assists per game. Barton shot a career high 38.1% from three-point range and shot 42.6% from the floor.
